• HAWKEYE DOWNS SPEEDWAY - HAWKEYE DOWNS SPEEDWAY has been a fixture in Cedar Rapids since 1925 in one form or another operating under different names including Frontier Park and the Cedar Rapids Speedway. From it's opening until 1989 the facility was a dirt track. The 1989 season saw Hawkeye Downs become Iowa's only paved oval with both 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile tracks, paved pits, an enclosed tech building and inspection area, MUSCO broadcast quality lighting, electronic message board, full concession facilities and many other features. In 2003 we added a new scoreboard, message board and transponder timing and scoring system.
HAWKEYE DOWNS SPEEDWAY has become a popular venue for visiting regional and national series including the American Speed Association, USAC Sprints and Midgets, IMCA Summer Series, the Mid-American Stock Car Series, Mid-American Super Trucks, Auto Value Super Sprints,HOSS Winged Sprint Cars, McLeod Gold Star Series, NASCAR REMAX Series,American IndyCar Series, UMARA Midgets and many others.
Hawkeye Downs Speedway is one of a very few tracks in the United States that has many of it's races broadcast live on the radio as well as simulcast on the Internet. KCRG-AM The ZONE carries most Friday night races as well as selected special events either live or tape delayed depending on other programming commitments. If you can't make it to Hawkeye Downs in person click the "KCRG Internet Radio" link on the main page to catch all the action from anywhere in the world! Make plans now to join us in 2004!

Our goal is a little simpler than that as we would like to keep the majority of our listings and activity confined to Georgia and the surrounding states promoting both hobby, semi-professional and professional motorsports. There is a lot of reference to racing on this site but motorsports also includes custom car shows, tractor pulls or other related activities (belt sander racing will be covered in another site at a later date, much later). The RACING LINKS page is probably the only page at this site where you will find listings outside the area. That said, we WILL post paid advertising from outside the area, DUUHHHH!!

• Holiday Raceway AKA "The Beach", - 1/8 mile drag strip located in the "Heart of Dixie".
Woodstock, AL - Holiday Raceway AKA "The Beach", has been open since 1968. Starting out with open class heads up drag racing, we now run three bracket classes paying up to 16 places in Pro-Bracket and Foot-Brake, and four places in Jr. Dragster. We are open every Saturday night during the racing season. During the week, we open on Thursday nights for Test and Tune. To find out more information on purses, times, and admission click here.
Location - One of the greatest things about Holiday Raceway is it's accessible location. We are located in between Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, right off of I-20/59. If your traveling on I-20/59 exit off on exit 97. Traveling east bear right onto US 11 at the top of ramp; traveling west, turn left at the top of the ramp and cross back over the interstate onto US 11. (4-lane) Stay on US 11 for about 2.5 miles. Holiday Raceway will be on your right.
